What Does Water Flushing Mean?

Water flushing is a pipe cleaning method that entails jetting high-pressure, high-velocity water through a sewer cleaning nozzle for a prescribed number of passes.

Flushing of the sewer pipe is used to remove debris such as sediments, roots, concrete, calcite and other foreign objects which can cause blockages and damage to the inner walls of the pipe.

Trenchlesspedia Explains Water Flushing

Regular cleaning and maintenance of sewer pipelines are essential to prevent potential issues associated with blockages, which can result in emergency repairs and costly downtime.

In addition to preventing damage due to obstructions, thorough cleaning of the pipeline is required to permit easy access and clear view of the pipe interior for inspection, rehabilitation and repair work.

Water flushing is often used as a means of ensuring obstruction-free access prior to the deployment of CCTV and sonar profiling equipment.
