Trenchlesspedia Explains Rig Side

There are two access sides to a drilling or boring operation which include the rig side and the pipe side. These sides are considered a right of way which provides access. This access area should be sufficient in size and in proper condition for safety. On the rig side, the work space should be sufficient for workers, the drill rig and equipment. On the pipe side, pipe string is laid out, connected and brought to the installation place on either blocks or a slide surface which requires a predetermined area for this work to occur.
