What Does Spacer Block Mean?

A spacer block is used where multiple pipes or multiple conduits share a bore or trench. The spacer block is a framework fitted around each end of the pipe or conduit to separate it is physically from the other pipes in the bore.

Multiple pipes in the bore may each have spacer blocks attached. The spacer blocks can be interlocked to form matrix through which the pipes are conduits they run

An individual spacer block might be a square steel frame supporting a circular frame the size of the pipes which will pass through it. When multiple pipes or conduits are installed in the same bore, they must be separated to prevent damage.

When the spacer blocks are installed on the conduit or pipe, this means the bore must be large enough to accommodate the dimensions of the spacer block or blocks to be installed. The trench was contractor must be aware of the dimensions of the assembled spacer block and pipe unit.
