Trenchlesspedia Explains Underground Construction Technology Association
Founded in 1992, the Underground Construction Technology Association was formed to promote education, training, research, and development related to underground construction. The organization believes that technology development is key to enabling municipalities to improve their utility infrastructure. UCTA has chapters in Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, and San Antonio.
In 2008, the name was changed from the Gulf Coast Trenchless Association. "We believe the name change will appeal to a larger membership group in other regions, UCTA Vision Committee Chairperson Rod McCrary said at the time. He also said, "UCTA is the most comprehensive organization for underground construction technology."
