Fold and form pipe liners are premanufactured liners which are inserted into pipes for rehabilitation processes. The folded form, usually an H or C shape, allows for easier insertion into into pipes. Fold and form liners are custom made to fit the inside diameter of the pipe. Once expanded, they prevent stress failure either due to over inflation or stress concentration leading to premature failure if the liner is larger and doesn’t open up properly, l

Trenchlesspedia Explains Fold And Form Pipe Liner

This method is a close fit lining method that involves using PE 100 pipes folded into C,U or H shape and inserted into the pipeline to be rehabilitated. The outer diameter of the liner is approx. 5% lesser than the bore diameter of the pipe. Once inserted, heat and pressure is applied to the liner such that it expands and forms a close fit with the host pipeline. Once the process is complete, the ends are trimmed off. The connections are restored using CCTV camera and robotic cutters. The materials used for these liners are environment friendly and do not pose any risk even when used for rehabilitating pipes carrying potable water.
