Sanitation Mean?
Sanitation is defined as the means by which the health of people and the cleanliness of homes and cities is managed. Sanitation primarily refers to the proper collection and disposal of human waste generated at homes and businesses. It also refers to disposal methods used to collect garbage and other waste generated from human activities.

Sanitation is an integral part of a well-functioning society. Lateral pipelines emerging from homes, offices, businesses, hotels, public bathrooms, etc. connect to the city sewer line and ensure that all waste generated is safely collected and removed so that people do not come into direct contact with it.
Most of the sewer network works on the principle of gravity, except in low lying areas where pumps are used to elevate the sewer line to the main sewer line that is situated at a higher level. The wastewater in the main sewer line flows to a sewage treatment plant where it is treated before discharge. The primary treatment of sewage water is carried out by screening large particles through a mesh, passage through a grit chamber, and settlement of organic and inorganic suspended particles in a settlement chamber.
The secondary treatment process includes the passage of the primary treated water through a trickling filter and an activated sludge process, after which the water is disinfected and discharged into a water body.
